New William Clayton Diary Typescripts

Posted on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 12:15 PM

Last week, on June 7, 2026, Jeremy Hoop of Still Mormon announced in a youtube video that he had been sitting on a complete typescript of the entire William Clayton diaries for quite a while, a typescript that was made in the 1970s by church historians who had access to it. He also shared that he has been working on a book utilizing those unreleased diaries, and that due to certain recent deaths in the Mormon historical community he now feels able to share the diaries publicly. Today, on June 14, 2026, he announced making these diaries available and has released that typescript on his website, but behind requiring submitting an email and receiving an email link to do so.

Here is a link to be able to download those diaries without having to join anyone’s email list. :) Thanks Jeremy, and enjoy to everyone interested in getting a more complete look at the William Clayton diaries’ content in anticipation of the Joseph Smith Papers’ publication of the diaries partnering with Yale getting those diaries officially published and available.
