    This first issue of One Eternal Round explores the priesthood concepts taught in Nauvoo that not only will enlighten the reader to a greater understanding of the Prophet Joseph Smith’s sermons and revelations, but also will lay a fundamental foundation for subsequent issues of One Eternal Round that will deal with the history of Priesthood and Succession.

    This article touches upon aspects of the Temple Doctrine that are not widely understood to Latter-day Saints today — the Patriarchal Authority of Kings and Priests and the Second Anointing. Significantly, the Prophet gave many details about these highest ordinance in his public discourses, and this article will explore his public teachings on these subjects.

    The Nauvoo Priesthood Developments will also be presenting the Prophet Joseph Smith’s teachings and revelations on the “Order of the Messiah” — a highest priesthood that only comes directly from Deity, an order of priesthood that appears to have been entirely forgotten after Joseph Smith’s death.

    Lastly, as an appendix to this issue of One Eternal Round is a new amalgamated text of Joseph Smith’s August 27, 1843 “Three Grand Orders” sermon, which is illuminating when one understands what those “three grand orders” actually are.
